“If you’ve never given before, this would be a good year to give,” says Nancy Wildgoose, executive director of the Perth and District Food Bank.
The food bank will kick off its annual Harvest Campaign for 2011 with a special dinner hosted by the Stone Cellar at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3. With the food bank still in the process of renovating its new quarters at 190 Gore St. E., and launching several innovative new programs, organizers say public support is critical.
The slogan for the 2011 campaign, which has a goal of $65,000, is The Power of Food, which Wildgoose said refers to “the power of food that changes lives, because you not only nourish people, but you allow them to get together and share something important.”
